Chimney Sweeping

Q: How often should I sweep my chimney?

A: You should get your chimney inspected or cleaned at least once a year for all types of fireplaces including oil gas and solid fuel. However If you burn wood or coal all year round in your fireplace, you should sweep your chimney at least every 6 months.

A: Sweeping does not create a mess and dust, we prevent the mess with dust sheets on the ground, seal the appliance during the sweep and use hepa filtered vacuum cleaners.

Q: Why does my chimney need sweeping?

A: Not many things can go wrong when chimney sweeping. However the main problem we encounter is a damaged or loose chimney pot or cowl which can brake or fall with chimney sweeping. We can usually prevent this issue by visually inspecting the chimney pot and cowl before starting the job. But on rare occasions it is unavoidable and we are not liable for any related damage costs. Although we can organize a repair of the damage for a competitive price.

A: Fire Bricks can crack and disintegrate with removal.
